For those wishing to strike out further afield, Pakefield provides easy access to the coastal villages and hidden rural gems of Suffolk and Norfolk.
Take a short drive through open countryside, past windmills and waterways, to discover the picturesque Norfolk Broads, a series of lakes and rivers that combine to form one of Britain's most loved wetland destinations. Rich with numerous wildlife species, the Norfolk Broads are also home to intimate pubs and village retreats.
Known for its colourful beach huts and brewery, Southwold, a historic seaside town, is also just a short drive away. Even closer are traditional seaside resorts Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth, offering a circus, fairground, aquarium and some truly captivating beaches – Dunwich and Aldeburgh are naturally scenic.
Inland, meanwhile, the well-preserved Medieval Wool towns Lavenham and Clare are well worth a visit.
