Located on the beautiful West Mersea Beach and within easy reach of the town centre, this Essex park offers a strong mix of relaxation, holiday atmosphere, and remarkable coastline views*.
A small and quiet place to relax, the park is close to the Blackwater Estuary, a large section of which is a triple SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest). The inspiring sights will thrill nature lovers, featuring flocks of migrating seabirds, along with a host of wonderful wildlife and flora.
Mersea Island is rightly celebrated for its water sports; Boat lovers and Sailing fanatics, Windsurfers and Kitesurfers will be in their element here. Fishing is also a famous tradition of the Island, a wide variety of tasty fish are regularly caught (sole, skate, bass, mullet, herring and cod) and sold in the specialist restaurants nearby. The area is also revered for its magnificent native Oysters, a delicacy that every touring guest should try!
The surrounding Essex countryside is lots of fun to explore. Why not visit historic Colchester with its many landmarks and world-famous zoo? Or walk the promenade at Clacton-on-Sea, a traditional and authentic seaside hot spot? Essex is also renowned for glorious sunny weather – it’s not called “The Sunshine Coast” for nothing!
Touring pitches are situated adjacent to our famous beach cabins and sandy beach, available on all-weather hard standing with electric, water and free showers**.
Spend your evenings in our brand new restaurant and bar – The Sandbank, with visiting cabaret acts and appetizing food and drink. West Mersea Holiday Park also benefits from a shop and laundrette. We also have charming, coloured beach huts along the seafront, a wonderful backdrop to this incredible holiday park.
*Please note: The island can be cut off twice a day by tides. Crossing depends on the high tide levels and times can vary quite considerably. On very high tides this can isolate the island for up to 2 hours. **The touring field at West Mersea Holiday Park has no immediate facilities. The nearest toilets and services are approximately a 5-10 minute walk away.
