Mr Whippy

The Price of a Mr Whippy has increased by 120% in London

The refreshing swirl of Mr Whippy ice cream is a staple of every British summer and is loved by all. But with the rise of inflation and sugar taxes, the '99p Flake' no longer exists, much like the 5p Freddo chocolate.

Freddo was relaunched in the 1990s for 10p. With the rise of inflation and other contributing factors, the price of this delicious family favourite has increased by 200% and is now sold for 30p

One of the main factors contributing to chocolate manufacturers increasing the price of staple treats is the rising cost of cocoa beans. Similarly, ice cream manufacturers have no choice but to increase their prices as inflation has meant the cost of ingredients such as milk, cream, sugar, and flavourings keep going up.

Because of this, Mr Whippy, another of the nation's iconic favourites, has also seen a massive hike in prices.

To find out more, we looked at the cost of these childhood favourites nationwide to see where you'll pay the most for your favourite summertime treat.
